Dove Elixir Rose & Almond Oil Review

Normally I don’t use any fancy hair oil. I always scare to oil my hair. It causes hairfall, no matter how softly I apply it, it will cause more hair fall than the regular. I have very very thin and fine hair. I used Keya Seth Alopex Penta for hair growth and It shows a good result to some extent. I could hide my bald patches atleast.

Anyways, let’s talk about the main product Dove elixir rose and almond oil, which I’ve got from the nykaa.com holi sale.

Packaging:

It comes in a beautiful glass bottle with a dispenser pump. You can take out the exact amount of oil what you need. No extra wastage. Also you can see the rose petals in it. It looks so beautiful and classy. I really love the packaging. Though it’s not travel friendly but still you can manage it by taking some extra care. 🙂

My experience:

This is the first oil which hasn’t caused any hairfall for me during the massage till now.  I just love it for this reason. I always massage my head softly for my fragile hair quality, and yes, for me it does what it is meant to do.

I normally apply hair oil before I go to sleep, leave it overnight and the next day I do the shampoo.  I also experience hairfall while oiling my hair, more than normal. For this reason I am always afraid of oils. But we need to moisturize our hair time to time, that’s why I do this once in a week. I tried Castor oil also to promote the hair growth, it shows the result to some extent, still it causes some hair fall. But with this Dove Elixire Rose & Almond oil the result is totally satisfactory, very very less or no hairfall during the massage and also at the time of shampooing. 

It has a mild fragrance which is very refreashing  and has very thin consistency. Texture is non oily, non greasy, feels light on head like a serum.  You can also use it after hair wash, take a little amount on your palm and massage lightly from middle of your hair to the end. It will detangle your hair and will make your hair shiny & frizzfree.

The most important thing is you can see the dried rose petals floating inside. 🙂 Isn’t it amazing? You cant control yourself to shake the bottle over and over. It looks so beautiful while doing this. Some residue of rose petals may come out with the oil, don’t worry, just apply it.

• Controls frizziness

 Cons:

• Not travel friendly
• A bit pricy (but for me it worth the money)
• Availability issue

Would I recommend?

Yes, of course. It is perfect for me. But the result may vary from person to person depending on their hair quality. Still it worth a try.
